San Francisco to Improve Patient Care via Health Information Exchange

Going to a new doctor can be frustrating for many people because transferring records is usually riddled with time-consuming delays. Thanks to Obama's stimulus, a comprehensive patient record that combines all of a patient's available medical information will potentially allow San Francisco's health care providers to efficiently exchange patient clinical data by early 2012. What used to be a heavily bureaucratic process can now be made smoother and more cost-efficient, saving millions of dollars in overall health care costs.
