School Improvement Grants

Rachel Norton wrote on her blog about the State DOE announcing recently that San Francisco was chosen for millions of dollars from the School Improvement Grant program. Many of the larger school districts around the State were disqualified for not following the guidelines or not committing to all of the necessary reforms. Pressure is being brought to bear on the Committee charged with deciding the final allocation of the grants. Hopefully SF will prevail and get grant money to begin reforming 10 of its most under-performing schools.

SF should not have schools that consistently underperform as innovative and forward thinking as we are. Read more her blog here:
