You need to complete the same application process to renew your SF City ID card as you did when you first applied for the card. However, you can use your current SF City ID card as proof of residency for your new card as long as you were over 14 years of age when the card was issued. If you were 13 years old or younger when the card was issued, you will need to meet the proof of residency requirements for individuals 14 years old or older. You must submit the proof of residency within 30 days of applying for a renewed card.
