On-campus housing is not required nor guaranteed at San Francisco State University. In addition to applying for admission to SF State, prospective students must also fill out an application for on-campus housing, which becomes available on October 1st.  On-campus housing is awarded on a first-come first serve basis and you must pay a non-refundable $55 application processing fee. There are four steps to receiving on-campus housing and they are: filling out the application, signing the license agreement, confirming your request and receiving your housing assignment.

You can visit the SF State Housing website to learn more about the process and when to begin to apply.
