The San Francisco homeless count is a way to measure the number of homeless in San Francisco. The count is done by volunteers who visit shelters as well as walk the streets to count the number of homeless in the city.

According to SFGov, the total number of homeless individuals and families in San Francisco for 2011 was 6,455.
