Petition: Say NO to tolls on the Golden Gate Bridge for pedestrians and cyclists

Dear Golden Gate Bridge Board of Directors,

I do not think the Golden Gate Bridge should charge a toll to bicyclists and pedestrians to cross the bridge. This city is already one of the most expensive in the country and this toll would make traffic worse and hurt the environment.

This city is already one of the most expensive in the country, and now they’re proposing to make us pay just to walk here – on public property.

This toll would not only make traffic worse, but also it would hurt the environment yielding more cars on the bridge and increasing air pollution.

We should not be punishing bicyclists and pedestrians through tolls – if anything we should incentivize more people to get out of their cars and ride a bike or walk.

The Golden Gate Bridge is one of San Francisco’s greatest landmarks, attracting tourists from all over the world. While it’s important to make sure the funds are there to keep it refurbished and in good working condition, punishing bicyclists and pedestrians is not the way to do it.
