Summer Spending

There was an interesting article in the Chronicle today about an increase in consumer spending despite the sluggish economy: http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/n/a/2010/08/30/financial/f053342D06.DTL. Maybe news like this will help contribute to the 0.4% increase that occurred in July.

I think that recovery might be too strong a word, but it does seem that job wise, the economy is slowly improving...check out this article on CNN today about a dip in jobless claims
