94109 Russian Hill
Getting its name from the discovery of Russian graves at the top of the hill, Russian Hill, is mainly a residential area, though it’s dotted with many restaurants and areas to shop. The neighborhood is generally considered to be affluent, with many young professionals living there, as well an increasing Chinese population moving east from Chinatown.
Many of Russian Hill’s restaurants and small businesses surround Hyde Street between Jackson and Union Streets though the area’s main attraction is Lombard Street – the crookedest street in the world. Being one of San Francisco’s most prominent attractions, Lombard Street ensures a steady stream of tourists in the area who also ride the famous cable car line along Hyde Street and frequent the staircases built to off-set the steepness of Russian Hill.
