'Manhattanization'

Found an article about how San Francisco could emulate changes that are being made in Manhattan, New York:

In this article, King talks about changes Manhattan has made to make the city a more pedestrian-friendly city. Instead of smaller changes, Manhattan focused on larger ones. Perhaps San Francisco could do the same?
