Fire Burning at San Francisco General Hospital Construction Site

A one-alarm fire is burning at the site where a new building is being constructed at San Francisco General Hospital, a fire department spokeswoman said.

The blaze was reported at 9:32 a.m. in the elevator shaft on the seventh floor of the under-construction building at 23rd Street and Potrero Avenue, San Francisco fire spokeswoman Mindy Talmadge said.

All workers at the site got out safely and no injuries have been reported, Talmadge said. The fire had not yet been controlled as of 9:45 a.m.
