Two men were arrested at San Francisco General Hospital early this morning after they went there for treatment following a fight outside a Mission District bar, police said.

Officers responded to a report of a fight near South Van Ness Avenue and 22nd Street at about 2 a.m., Officer Gordon Shyy said.

When they arrived they encountered two victims, San Francisco men ages 27 and 31, who had suffered cuts to their faces, Shyy said.

Shyy said the victims told police that four men had assaulted them with glass bottles just outside of a bar. The victims were taken to the hospital.

Police then learned that two additional people were being treated at the hospital after arriving there in a cab from the location where the fight had occurred, Shyy said.

The victims identified the two suspects as their attackers, and police arrested them. They were identified as Enzo Cestoni and Jorge Lopez, both 23-year-old San Francisco residents, Shyy said.

Cestoni and Lopez were booked into jail on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, he said.

Two other men who had arrived at the hospital in the cab with Cestoni and Lopez were questioned but were then released because the victims did not identify them as being involved in the assault, Shyy said.

Shyy said everyone involved was uncooperative, and that police are unsure whether alcohol or drugs were involved.
