Phil Ting
As Assessor-Recorder of San Francisco, I've worked to generate over $245 million in
new revenue for San Francisco and make sure everyone pays their fair share in property taxes.
In 2005, I was appointed and later elected Assessor-Recorder, becoming San Francisco’s highest-ranking Chinese-American official. I've focused on reducing the assessment backlog from four to two years and every dollar that our office brings in means more money for the city to fund crucial programs for children, seniors and families. I'm a proud champion of innovation and efficient government.
I graduated from UC Berkeley and Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government, and I currently live in San Francisco's Sunset District with my wife, Susan Sun and our daughters, Isabella and Madeleine.
