Crime Down in SF

A press conference was held yesterday to tout the reduction in crime across the board in SF. To date, there have been 38 murders. In 2006 it was over 104. It shows how when leadership at the top began to institute Compstat - putting officers in areas where data shows the most crimes are committed -- crime started to drop dramatically. It is one of the things the Mayor Newsom campaigned on; it took him a while, but we are beginning to see a stark turnaround under Chief Gascon.

Now all we need to do is stop the open drug use and selling in the City and safety on MUNI. If Chief Gascon can tackle those two issues SF will have been completely turned around.
