Is the Golden Gate Bridge part of the California state Highway System?

No, the Golden Gate Bridge is not technically part of Highway 101 or State Route 1. Technically, Highway 101 and State Route 1 end at the north abutment of the Golden Gate Bridge and at about 1,000 feet south of the Golden Gate Bridge toll plaza.

The Golden Gate Bridge is considered part of the National Highway System. For more information visit the California Streets and Highways Code Section 301 and 401.
