Big City with a Small Town Feel

Where on earth has all of the aspects of a big city with the feel of a small town?  San Francisco.  What I personally love about SF is that it has all of the amenities, hustle, and bustle of a big city, yet the people who live here take ownership of their communities as if they lived in a small suburban town.  This model is great for fostering citizen activism and environmental sustainability, where people live in close proximity to one another and care about what happens in their part of town.  Collectively, this adds up across the city to become a strong force of residents working towards progress.  

This is what I love about San Francisco.
