Transbay Transit Center
Who here is excited for August 2017? That's the opening date for the $1.2 billion Transbay Transit Center. The whole project brings together a high-speed rail terminal, high density housing (which is a good thing), office space and more. But the project is also to produce what will possibly be the City's tallest building.
Overall I think this a good thing for the region - especially since about $400 million is coming from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act - but I'm a little apprehensive of such a gigantic meshing of projects for what was originally just to be an efficient meeting place of the region's transit systems.
What do the transportation experts out there think of this project: waste or wonderful?
