Prop N would allow a non-citizen resident of San Francisco who is of legal voting age and is the parent or legal guardian of a child living in the San Francisco Unified School District to vote for members of the Board of Education.

Key supporters of Proposition N include: Supervisors Eric Mar, David Campos, Jane Kim, Scott Wiener, and Malia Cohen.
Supporters argue that Prop N would allow non-citizen parents to have a say regarding issues that have a direct impact on their children.
Moreover, proponents contend that the proposition would help to incorporate immigrant communities and promote civic education and engagement.
