If you’re a local, you’re probably already aware that there are a lot of amazing things happening in San Francisco and throughout the Bay Area — from art exhibits and cultural events to outdoor activities and a seemingly never-ending array of new restaurants and other spots opening.
But, in case you didn’t know (or are having trouble keeping up with them all), we’ve launched a new series to help you out called SF Happenings.
Each Thursday we’ll publish a roundup of the coolest events and fun things to do so you can plan your weekend — and maybe even the next few weeks — with ease.
This week, TheRumLab.com is hosting the 2nd California Rum Festival!
This two-day festival will kick off on Friday afternoon with a Sprit Industry session (geared toward professionals in the industry), followed by a Rum Aficionado Grand Tasting “General Admission” session (yes, you heard right, it’s a tasting event where you’ll try new rums!) in the evening.
The festival continues on Saturday with The Rum Bazaar, during which “attendees will enjoy (1) great tropical rum cocktails made with the rum brands that are participating in the event + elaborated by some of SF best bartenders, (2) arts & craft by local vendors and (3) some pleasant retro/surf music.”
SOMArts – 934 Brannan St, San Francisco, CA 94103
Tickets start as low as $5 and can be purchased via Eventbrite.
As described by the Castro Theatre: “This interactive presentation of Disney’s classic has been customized with on-screen lyrics for all the songs so that audiences can sing along!”
“Your hosts will introduce each performance and warm up the audiences’ vocal chords. Plus goody bags for everyone and audience members can add to the fun by dressing up as your favorite character from the film!”
Thankfully, you’ll have several opportunities to catch this fun, family-friendly event:
The Castro Theatre – 429 Castro Street, San Francisco, CA 94114
