Can I be charged for requesting documents through Sunshine Requests?
Yes, a city department can charge 10 cents per page copied. It may also charge a duplication fee of 1 cent per page for a copy of a public record prepared for discussion at a public meeting. Additional fees such as postage or requests for certified copies may apply. A department cannot charge you for finding or collecting records or editing records that may be partially exempt from public disclosure.
