If you are interested in providing a caring environment for a court-dependent child, you need to become licensed by Family and Children’s Services of San Francisco to become a foster parent. The duties of a foster parent include providing all the resources and support of a birth parent, including taking care of the child’s health needs and ensuring the child receives a proper education. You can call the Foster Parent Program line at (415) 558 – 2200 to learn more and start on the path to becoming a San Francisco foster parent for a child in need.
