Property owners are responsible for the sidewalks in front of their property. If you see a sidewalk in need of maintenance or repair you can report damaged sidewalk such as a lifted sidewalk, large cracks, holes, or crumbling sidewalk online to the Department of Public Works. You will need to choose whether the issue is in a park or public street and then fill out the appropriate form online.

The San Francisco Sidewalk Inspection and Repair Program is run by the Department of Public Works. Under the program, the Department of Public Works will then inspect the sidewalk, and if they find damage they will send the property owner a notice to fix the sidewalk.
