How does the public hearing process work for colored curbs in San Francisco?
When you submit an application for the installation of any new colored curb zones in San Francisco, a public hearing is necessary to approve the application. Public hearings are held once a month at City Hall.
Public hearings are a chance for residents to express concerns and questions regarding changes to their streets. Anyone can attend public hearings.
When a new colored curb zone has been applied for, postings about the proposed changes will be posted in the vicinity of the proposed zone around 10 days before the hearing date.

After gaining approval at the public hearing, applicants must pay paint and installation fees prior to work starting.
New colored curb zones will be painted as soon as SFMTA scheduling allows.
