Jury duty in San Francisco is a five-day long period. You may have to show up for jury duty anytime during your five-day jury service as listed on your jury summons.

When your jury service starts you must obtain reporting instructions by calling the Court at 415-551-3608 each day that you have jury service. When you call you will be notified if you are required to appear at the court for jury summons that day.

If during the five days you call you are not told you need to appear for jury summons,
your jury service is completed for one year.

If during one of the five days you call you are asked to report to the courthouse, but do not get assigned to a courtroom for jury selection that day, you have fulfilled your jury service for the year.
