If the San Francisco Department of Elections needs you to work as a pollworker in an election, you will be notified by mail two months before each election. You will need to respond to the letter indicating when you’d like to attend training. By returning the letter, you’ve confirmed your commitment to work as a pollworker on Election Day.

If the San Francisco Department of Elections does not receive your response by the date indicated on the letter, you may be assigned to standby and not to a precinct. If you do not receive an availability letter, please contact the Pollworker Division at (415) 554-4395.
