To be eligible for the Teacher Next Door (TND) Program offered to first-time homebuyers by the San Francisco Mayor’s Office of Housing (MOH) residents of San Francisco must meet a number of requirements. Most notably, applicants must be purchasing their first home in San Francisco and must be currently employed as a full time teacher with the San Francisco Unified School District. The applicants must have an income not exceeding 200% of the area median income for San Francisco – in the case of a family of four, $203,000. The applicants must also not have liquid assests totaling over $25,000 after the property purchase and complete a first-time homebuyer education course. The five agencies offering the first-time homebuyer education course can be found here.
