The application process for the Mortgage Credit Certificate (MCC) Program offered to first-time homebuyers by the San Francisco Mayor’s Office of Housing (MOH) begins with the homebuyer choosing a realtor and finding a home of their choosing. The applicant must then arrange financing with an MCC Participating Lender. The list of MCC Participating Lenders can be found here. The lender will determine if the applicant is eligible, help them fill out the MCC application forms, and send them to the City. Upon confirming the applicant’s eligibility, the City will issue the Mortgage Credit Certificate within 10 working days of receiving the completed MCC application. More info about the MCC application process can be found here.
